I was nervous to order, but think they are turning out to be the best jeans I’ve had. Usually a 10, but pretty curvy, so I was nervous about sizing down. This was a good call. 30 was incredibly tight to start— a week in and they’ve stretched nicely and are softening. They now fit like a glove and are comfortable too. The high waist means they never ride down. Overall, they seem like they’ll be a closet staple for a long time and they look amazing. It is weird to have to hem them- I’m 5’9” and have never dealt with that before. I’ll get around to it eventually- they’re pretty cute cuffed.
Andrea stayed late to accommodate me and my husband when we drove down from Richmond and were running late. She was wonderful with her advice and soon had us fitted with their phenomenal jeans. I got the raw form of Haywood’s and thus went down a size since they stretch with time. Andrea also took the time to hem them for me before we left the shop. I just recently wore the Haywoods out to a brewery followed by a bike ride and they were more comfortable than anticipated since they are raw, after all. Best experience!
These jeans turned out exactly as I had hoped! Sturdy denim, took a few days to break in, and now fit like a glove. I definitely need to get them shortened, but for now I'm just cuffing them. I am 5'5", weigh around 110 lbs, generally take either a 24 or 25 in jeans (usually 25), or a 00 in Everlane pants. I originally ordered the 25, but they were too big, so I exchanged for a 24 which fit perfectly (meaning, they were pretty tight when I first put them on, but I knew they would stretch out a little, and after about a week they are great). By comparison, I bought a 25 in the Haywood black, and while they are a teeny tiny bit on the loose side, I would definitely not side down to a 24 in those. Be aware that the ink can rub off a little (not much), so be a little careful to not sit on something bright white until you break these in.
