I never thought I would ever experience a denim masterpiece let alone own one. I turned 61 this year and had heard of selvage and other types of better denim but never pursued getting any beyond just looking. I wasn’t sure how or why the prices were consistent with the offerings. I thought advertisements were mostly hype. Well, color me convinced the RDW advertisements are not hype. The fabric is reassuringly sturdy and portends a comforting patina in the near future. The finishing work is impeccable. I love the way the look and fit. I feel like a mini-art gallery when I wear them.
I have several pairs of expensive Japanese denim, Samurai and Momotaro. The construction and attention to detail on these rival or exceed them in every way. The fit is spot on and I’m glad I sized down. The fabric is very special and wears very easy after a few weeks. Feels like a “grown up” denim. Softening up nicely and I can already see some fades coming through on the knees and thighs. Cheers to my American friends for making a superior product that I will be proud to wear for years to come!
I really enjoy breaking in the raw denim jeans, they begin to fit like a glove and when the wear lines begin to fade in, the look is truly unique! The denim weight is perfect for year round wear, they are just the best period!
