OUR FIT MENTOR
In 2008, Chris Ellsberg, a master pattern maker with 60 years of experience, walked into our workshop and changed the game. She had heard we were making jeans with old-school methods and wanted to be a part of it. Back then, we didn’t have money to pay ourselves, much less Chris. But she signed on anyway because the work meant more to her than the money. Chris has taught us loads about the art of making jeans that flatter the lines of the body.
WE SIGN EVERY PAIR
When we started, we made every pair ourselves and signed each one. For us, it was just what you did when you made something and you were proud of it. Today, when one of our jeansmiths has reached a point where they’re as good or better than we are, we have a little ceremony and we give them a sharpie so they can start signing their work. Look for the signature on the inside front pocket.
Great pants--all I wear these days
I think this is my sixth pair of these pants in different colors and I have basically stopped wearing anything else because no other pants I know of come close to these in the combination of fit, comfort, stretch, and style. I plan to keep buying them as long as Raleigh Denim keeps making them. I used to buy lots of other brands of pants in an often unsuccessful effort to get a good fit, with the result that I would end up with many pants I don't wear. No more! Keep up the good work!
Don’t stop. In fact, go faster.
My 4th pair of Alexander Stretch (my 6th pair of pant/denim from RDW). Love love love. Just gets mildly annoying that I have to keep checking for updates because my size - 34 - sells out so fast. It’s kinda like not knowing when xmas is, so you have to keep a tree up all year and run downstairs every morning to see if Santa came. More or less.
