We make these jeans in small runs and expect to sell every pair. A run might be as low as 40 and is rarely higher than 400. The leather patch on the back tells what number pair you have and how large the run size was.
OUR FIT MENTOR
In 2008, Chris Ellsberg, a master pattern maker with 60 years of experience, walked into our workshop and changed the game. She had heard we were making jeans with old-school methods and wanted to be a part of it. Back then, we didn’t have money to pay ourselves, much less Chris. But she signed on anyway because the work meant more to her than the money. Chris has taught us loads about the art of making jeans that flatter the lines of the body.
SECRET HIP BONES
After you’ve worn your jeans a few months, they’re no longer two dimensional. They become shaped like your body. So, we thought we’d give them bones. Victor found a hip x-ray and started silk-screening bones on the inside of the front pockets — in the anatomically correct position next to your real hip bones.
WE SIGN EVERY PAIR
When we started, we made every pair ourselves and signed each one. For us, it was just what you did when you made something and you were proud of it. Today, when one of our jeansmiths has reached a point where they’re as good or better than we are, we have a little ceremony and we give them a sharpie so they can start signing their work. Look for the signature on the inside front pocket.
Best jeans I have ever had!
Not the first pair I have ordered, but this one I am not going to wash-Ever!
Awesome as usual
For Those Who Appreciate the Finer Things in Life
Excellent. I look great and feel fine wearing my Alexanders. Extemporaneous enthusiastic compliments come rolling in. I didn't buy them for work. They look quite dapper with a contrasting color blazer, whether white linen or camel cashmere. Dress'em up with a fine pair of shoes or go casual with black Chuck Taylors. Details make the quality and "hand made" features obvious. I live in the mountains with summer highs in the upper 80s. These jeans will be worn twelve months with comfort and style.
