We make these jeans in small runs and expect to sell every pair. A run might be as low as 40 and is rarely higher than 400. The leather patch on the back tells what number pair you have and how large the run size was.
OUR FIT MENTOR
In 2008, Chris Ellsberg, a master pattern maker with 60 years of experience, walked into our workshop and changed the game. She had heard we were making jeans with old-school methods and wanted to be a part of it. Back then, we didn’t have money to pay ourselves, much less Chris. But she signed on anyway because the work meant more to her than the money. Chris has taught us loads about the art of making jeans that flatter the lines of the body.
SECRET HIP BONES
After you’ve worn your jeans a few months, they’re no longer two dimensional. They become shaped like your body. So, we thought we’d give them bones. Victor found a hip x-ray and started silk-screening bones on the inside of the front pockets — in the anatomically correct position next to your real hip bones.
WE SIGN EVERY PAIR
When we started, we made every pair ourselves and signed each one. For us, it was just what you did when you made something and you were proud of it. Today, when one of our jeansmiths has reached a point where they’re as good or better than we are, we have a little ceremony and we give them a sharpie so they can start signing their work. Look for the signature on the inside front pocket.
Great jeans for gals too!
I am a female, big fan of Raleigh Denim but looking for NOT skin tight jeans. I used to wear Levi's 501's when they were good, and they fit a treat. I took a chance on the Graham Selvage Raw hoping for a similar fit, and got it! Snug around waist and hips, roomy legs, nicely tapered leg. I'm 5'6", 120 lbs, slim build.
I am an athletic guy and purchased the Graham because they were described as the most generous model. They fit well and I am following the Raleigh Denim break in suggestion of not washing for a few months during the break in. A bit more room in the thighs for my cyclists legs and flare at the bottom to fit over my boots would be nice. I knocked off a star because one of the button on the fly had a wire sticking out of it that I had to cut off. For the cost of these 'handmade' jeans there should be better quality control. I need to give them sometime to see if they are worth the price compared to a few others out there.
Already want another pair!
After waiting months for the Graham Raws to restock I finally have them. Already sent back for a hem and got them back very quickly.
