Sylvan Esso

I remember the way my brain shook the time I heard a song from Sylvan Esso. It was their second show ever at Hopscotch Fest when they played Memorial Auditorium. (My friend, Brad Cook suggested we make sure to be there).

It was obvious that they had a new perspective on creating, collaborating, and connecting. We met them and got to know each other soon after and were frequently inspired by their perspective.

On their first national tour, Amelia stayed with us at our NYC apartment and read us bedtime stories. Nick was one of our lookbook models a few years ago, too. So when they SOLD OUT two consecutive nights for the home crowd in Durham NC at DPAC, we wanted to do something to commemorate the time.

DPAC commissioned two jackets for Nick and Amelia, and custom Trucker hats for everyone in the band. Freeform Shibori of course…. Black and White this time. The fabric looked like an inferno... and that’s what their band felt like those nights.
